The route: 33 km, ending with a winding climb
From Montreux, we head to Aigle across the Rhône plain, then take the mountain road up to Leysin. The last few kilometres are a series of hairpin bends that call for careful driving, especially in winter. Our drivers have been driving these roads for many years, summer and winter.

Taxi or train: the difference when you have luggage
By train, you have to get off in Aigle and take the Aigle–Leysin rack railway, then make your way to your accommodation from the station at the top. That is pleasant without luggage, far less so with suitcases, skis or children.

A day's skiing in Leysin from Montreux
Staying on the Riviera and keen to ski in Leysin for the day? Book two journeys: up in the morning, back down in the late afternoon. The total is the same as a return trip: CHF 250 in the E-Class or CHF 316 in the V-Class.

Choosing between the E-Class and the V-Class
The Mercedes E-Class Estate takes 1 to 4 passengers and a maximum of 4 suitcases, for CHF 125. The Mercedes V-Class carries up to 7 passengers and 10 suitcases, for CHF 158. In both cases, the price covers the whole vehicle.
