Crossing into the Saanenland
Gstaad lies in the Saanenland, in the canton of Bern, just over the language border from the Vaud Alps. Signs and daily life switch to German, while the airport you land at is French-speaking. Our drivers speak French, English, German, Russian and Armenian, so communication is easy at both ends of the trip, whether you are giving directions to a chalet or chatting with hotel staff on arrival.
Gstaad is popular in winter for skiing and in summer for mountain walks and events, and we drive there in every season. Many guests stay in chalets outside the village centre, sometimes on narrow side roads. Send us the full address when you book so we can plan the last few hundred metres and drop you at the right door, not at the nearest main road.

The road from Geneva
We meet you on arrival in Geneva, follow your flight, and load your luggage. The usual route runs along Lake Geneva to Aigle, then up through Les Diablerets and over the Col du Pillon before descending to Gstaad. The total is about 158 km; allow about 2 hours, longer in heavy snow.
Mountain passes demand experience in winter. Our drivers have driven these roads for many years, in summer and winter. At the Col du Pillon you also pass the base station for Glacier 3000, a good idea for a day out during your stay.
Vehicles and luggage
- Mercedes-Benz E-Class estate: 1 to 4 passengers, maximum 4 suitcases.
- Mercedes-Benz V-Class: up to 7 passengers and 10 suitcases.
Winter visitors often travel with skis, boot bags and several large cases. Tell us exactly what you are bringing when you book so we send the V-Class if needed. Child seats and stops on the way should also be mentioned in your booking message.
Pricing for Gstaad trips
For the airport run, which is over 100 km, we agree the price on request and give you a quick quote. The price is for the whole vehicle and is confirmed before departure; a return trip is the same distance counted twice.
Shorter trips use fixed per-kilometre rates. From Montreux to Gstaad (62 km) it is CHF 236 or CHF 298; from Les Diablerets to Gstaad (25 km), CHF 95 or CHF 120. These prices are indicative and confirmed at booking.
From Aigle, where we are based, Gstaad is 46 km over the Col du Pillon: CHF 175 in the E-Class or CHF 221 in the V-Class. That is useful if you arrive by train on the Simplon line and want to finish the journey by car.
